More than three stars but not close to four. Single mom Delia Hopkins works with the local Wexton police and a bloodhound named Greta to find lost children. It is like visiting another planet when you only have one roll of film to record it; like coming to a banquet after a hunger strike — there is so much here that I have to consciously vanishkng myself from racing through, before it all disappears. The number two thing is Dear Daddy.
Especially when, as someone who loves an alcoholic, you should know more about it and not actively put him in a position that he probably can’t handle A while, he tells me. Delia Hopkins is none-other-than Bethany Matthews and her mother is alive and well. This was the first Jodi Picoult novel I ever read and it got me hooked on her books.

Everything we learn is continually undermined until it becomes clear that there is no truth — something which I think the novel does deliberately yet, inexplicably. But just when it seems that the plan will work, everything gets turned upside down. In what ways does Elise’s alcoholism significantly impact both Delia and Eric, and the choices that picoylt ultimately make? By that description, I should probably give it a 2, but I’ll stick with my pattern picoulr “rounding up” with my ratings.

It’s also the only thing he ever talks about, and losing his job is apparently so inconsequential that no one even wonders how he jodo Delia are going to pay the bills when they get back to New Hampshire. When her father is arrested for the crime and put on trial back in Arizona, everything Delia knows to be true about her life and her world unravels.
This is a quick and easy read. I fell in love with her dad even though his actions are questionable. The feel of her hands ;icoult my scalp as she massaged in baby shampoo.
Are we products of our pasts, or do we have more control over whom we become? It’s been quite a while since I read anything by this author. I really loved the story of three friends, Eric, Fritz and Delia. She casts around to pick up the scent again, and then starts to run.
